Pleats Please Issey Miyake
First launched through mainline Issey Miyake in 1988, Pleats Please became a signature brand with an independent Spring/Summer 1994 collection. Through his extensive exploration of advanced techniques of garment construction, Issey Miyake developed a patented technique called “Finished Pleating” that remains the foundation of Pleats Please. Reversing the conventional pleating process, garments are first cut and sewn and pleated afterwards, making for highly adaptable and easy to wear pieces. Pleats Please offers simple yet elevated statement pieces with vivid colors and prints that enhance each garment’s sculptural sensibilities.
