Homme Plissé Issey Miyake
Legendary Japanese designer Issey Miyake debuted his eponymous womenswear label in 1971, charting a half century of work in fashion. Consistently an industry pioneer, Miyake’s clothing blends traditional Japanese techniques with forward-thinking technology. The popularity of their acclaimed pleating technique led to the debut of Pleats Please in 1993 and Homme Plissé in 2013.
Homme ‘Plissé’ is derived from Miyake's signature technique used to give a permanent puckered or crinkled effect used by Miyake since 1988. The fabric is first cut into the garments shape then pleated, in contrast to the conventional method of pleating a fabric and then cutting it into the design.
