Exploration of form, rather than narrative, is what drives Melitta Baumeister, and is what drew us to her as a designer. Baumeister is a wizard with lines and circles and squiggles, which she applied for spring with various degrees of intensity, as well as volume. WELCOME TO IDLEWILD
Idlewild is a clothing and shoe store in downtown Cincinnati's historic OTR neighborhood. Our multi-brand fashion store offers a selection from world-renowned and emerging designers.
First and foremost, the owners of Idlewild are a family who love art, design, and fashion. Julie Clark and Jessica Murray purchased Idlewild in May 2018. Integral to forging that new partnership was Tessa Clark (daughter and cousin), who manages the store with forward-thinking drive and savvy under their leadership.
Julie’s long-standing passion in the art and design world is her ceramic work, however she has been a bit of a curator and entrepreneur for the majority of her life. You can shop her jewelry in store and online here.
Jessica is a graphic designer, photographer, Flâneur, and Francophile, as well as the creator of a line of bags inspired by her years in Paris. She utilizes her photography on the bags and printed products. Shop her designs here.
Tessa is an emerging Fashion Designer based in Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of DAAP at the University of Cincinnati, her brand, Grind and Glaze is stocked in store and on our website here. Tessa was a design contestant on Season 17 of Project Runway on Bravo, where she made it to the top 5!
